What is JamP?
JamP is a pure java clone of the well known Winamp Mp3 Player in version 2.x.

The whole project is at first out of pure curiosity in rolls come. After the fundamental features were programmed, like the Skinbrowser, the project got positive feedback. Thus with the time, ever more functionalities of the original were taken over.
Java is a crossplattform programming language. This make it possible to run programms running on many Operating systems (Linux, Macintosh, Windows or pocket pc), all based on the same code.
To run JamP on your maschine you need Java in a version of 1.4 or higher.

Java Webstart is a high-level technology, enabling you allways be running the latest version. Also it is much more easyier to install by just one click.
Webstart Users: The common method is as simple as possible: Please recognize you were online. And start the latest stable JamP version. If there is any update available you will automaticly recieve it.
The non webstart version (.zip dowloaded) is able to do a manual version check. Click on the Player window to get the Context menu, select "About JamP..." click on "Version". There is a extra button to do a version check, simply click on it to check if a new version is aviable. If so, JamP will start downloading it. After download finished, restart JamP to adopt update.

Actually the PlugIn Interface is in development .I work on some crossplattform visualization strategy. I brought some books about DSP to get all avaible data from the Sampledata. JamP will be able to render Spectrum Data in realtime too. The whole Interface will be open sourced as soon as it is stable enough.
